Something New Wants to Emerge

The birth of anything new is generally preceded by pain and messiness. Before we can enjoy the newness of a home remodeling project or the order of a clean closet, we must first contend with destruction and disorder that can temporarily look and feel worse than when we started. Emotions that emerge as the slate is being cleaned can be challenging to experience and manage.

Try to stay with the emotions because self-awareness encompasses the full spectrum of your feelings and thoughts. Emotions are your inner GPS letting you know something important is happening in you and should not be ignored. …

Whether we intentionally seek it or it's thrust on us, a clean slate offers the opportunity to tap into the Source of Creation and discover Its infinite potentiality. I find it helpful to stay with whatever emotions arise. Rather than brush them aside, I ask, as if talking to the emotions, what it is I may learn. …

Centers for Spiritual Living's purpose is to awaken humanity to its spiritual magnificence. We awaken by cultivating self-awareness and self-reflection. Consider establishing a routine of examining your emotions, asking what message a particular emotion has for you. Explore your thoughts and beliefs by asking yourself, “Where did this idea originate? Am I living in integrity with my values? Who would I be without this thought or behavior?” These inquiries may create clarity and space in your consciousness for something new.

Meditation: Trust the Guidance of Love

If we love one another, God dwells in us, and Its love is perfected in us. Let us join in affirming God's presence, here and now. Let us shut out every other thought in our minds as we listen confidently, peacefully and quietly. I believe God is love. I believe love is at the center of everything; therefore, I accept love as the healing power of life. I permit love to reach out from me to every person I meet.

I believe love is returned to me from every person I meet. I trust the guidance of love because I believe it is the power of good in the universe. I feel that love is flowing through me to heal every situation I meet, to help every person I contact. Love opens the way before me and makes it perfect, straight and immediate.

Love forgives everything unlike itself, purifies everything. Love converts everything that seems commonplace into that which is wonderful. Love converts weakness into strength, fear into faith. Love is the all-conquering power of Spirit.

As children walk in confidence with their parents, so I walk in confidence with life. As children, through love, trust their parents, so I put my whole trust in that love I feel to be everywhere present, within, around and through me — within, around and through all people.
