A Prayer: Open to Possibilities

Field of Flowers

By Rev. Anna Scott

One Life, One Spirit, One Love — God is everywhere present in and through all things. I sense the Presence of this Spirit everywhere I look as the seasons begin to change and life comes bursting forth in the tiny flowers that have been resting and waiting for the divine signal to emerge. …

Knowing that God is in all and through all, I know I am a divine emanation of the One Presence and the One Power. As I know this to be true for me, I know it to be true for all people everywhere. We are One.

In this moment, I claim that each and every one of us is open to a more complete experience of the Divine. We are open to the limitless possibilities of the Eternal One.

As we step into this season of new growth, we see reflected in our lives an intrinsic ability to diver deeper into our relationship with our own personal Divine. …

I release this word and allow it to go into the law of love knowing it returns to me fulfilled. And so it is.

Welcome, Spring

The spring equinox this year in the Northern Hemisphere is March 20. In celebration of the coming of spring, we share two stanzas from Emily Dickinson’s “A Light Exists in Spring (Poem 812)”:

A Light exists in spring
Not present on the year
At any other period —
When March is scarcely here

A color stands abroad
On solitary fields
That science cannot overtake
But human nature feels.

The Great Search

Woman sitting on rocks

By Ernest Holmes

The world seeks a solution of its great riddle — the apparent separation between God and man; between life and what it does; between the invisible and the visible; between the Father and the Son — and until this riddle is solved, there can be no peace.

Peace is an inner calm, obtained through man’s knowledge of what he believes and why. Without knowledge, there is no lasting peace. Nothing can bring peace but the revelation of the individual to himself and a recognition of his direct relationship to the Universe. He must know that he is an eternal being on the pathway of life, with certainty behind him, certainty before him and certainty accompanying him all the way.

Peace is brought about through a conscious unity of the personal man with the inner principle of his life — that underlying current, flowing from a divine center, pressing ever outward into expression. But this can never come by proxy. We can hire others to work for us, to care for our physical needs, but no one can live for us. This we must do for ourselves.
