An Adventure Called the Graffiti Village Tour

Through nine U.S. states and two countries, four young men set on out a journey to share their message of sustainability, peace, positivity and art. These four men of color — Jamil Suleman, Ari Glass, Aaron Jacob and Jeffon Seely — believed they could bridge differences in communities, “being warriors of light before we even knew what that meant,” Seely says.

“This sacred journey allowed us to find rejuvenation and connection in nature,” he adds, “embrace the vibrant energy found in cities and capture inspiration from various spiritual communities — the power found in Native American reservations and the wisdom of the elders.”

Each of the four shares a part of the journey in the February 2019 issue of Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine.

Glass writes, “We learned sacred and valuable knowledge from the indigenous elders and gained insight on innovative practices like Earthships and permaculture. The whole story can be visualized as a work of art continuously in motion toward a new way of living in the light.”

They call their adventure the Graffiti Village Tour. They invite you to share a part of their journey and to learn more at www.IndieGeniusMedia.com. We invite you to explore our special section in the February issue, dedicated to Sacred Travel.

2019 Season for Nonviolence: Carry the Vision

A Season For Nonviolence LogoThe Gandhi King Season for Nonviolence begins each year on January 30 and runs through April 4. Established by Arun Gandhi, Mohandas Gandhi’s grandson, the season begins on the anniversary of Mohandas Gandhi’s assassination on January 30 and ends on the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“We learn to practice nonviolence one step at a time, one choice at a time, one day at a time,” according to the season’s introduction on the website of the Association for Global New Thought. “Through our daily nonviolent choices and action, the noble and courageous spirit within each of us expresses itself as the skills, wisdom and character of a nonviolent human being. This is how we each, in our own way, move the world in a direction of peace.”

AGNT offers resources to make the Season for Nonviolence as powerful as possible. There are daily meditations, affirmations, practices and more available at http://www.agnt.org/64-days.

National Day of Racial Healing

Join in the National Day of Racial Healing

Today, January 22, is the National Day of Racial Healing, a part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation effort – a national, community-based process of transformative, sustainable change, addressing the historic and contemporary effects of racism.

The National Day of Racial Healing invites you to take three steps:

  1. Reinforce and honor our common humanity, while celebrating the distinct differences that make our communities vibrant.
  2. Acknowledge the deep racial divisions that exist in America, that must be overcome and healed.
  3. Commit to engaging people from all racial and ethnic groups in genuine efforts to increase understanding, caring and respect for one another.

One Family in God

— by Dr. Ernest Holmes

I believe in the union of God with man. I believe in the need we all have for each other. I believe that the Spirit is acting through me in love and in harmony with others. And I believe that the same Spirit in others is reacting to me in love and in harmony.

I believe that we are all one family in God and that God is working in each one of us in such a way as to produce a better world. I am willing to be guided; I am glad to be led of the Spirit; and I rejoice in the thought that all people live in God, that we all may be guided by the Spirit.

I am seeking and finding love and friendship everywhere I go, in everyone I meet, in every situation in which I find myself.

And Thou who doest all things devise and fashion for the best, help us, who see with mortal eyes, to overlook the rest.
