Claim Your Good

Claim youy Good

In the July 2017 issue of Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine, Petra Weldes offers five practices for “making a clear choice and claiming our good.”

  1. Ask yourself, “What do I really want?”
  2. Practice deliberately making small choices between two things you could actually like and without asking for advice.
  3. Realize that making a claim on the Universe and making a demand on the Law is not like demanding something from a person. “Rather,” she says, “it is as simple as demanding water from your faucet or claiming light from your lamp."
  4. Recognize and release any old ideas about the will of God.
  5. Explore the possibility that your deepest desires are actually the will of God for you.

Keep Dancing

Every month, Guide for Spiritual Living: Science of Mind magazine offers Daily Guides and affirmations specific to each day of the month. In the July issue, author and facilitator Rev. Karen S. Wylie offers this guide for today, July 8:

In truth, I think we are destined to be opened by the living of our days. We live our joys and we live our sorrows, and hopefully, through it all, we come into the full awareness of who we are as authentic beings.

Sometimes we are called further into experience than we’d like to go, but it is such times that allow us to discover what it means to be truly alive. Our darkest moments can bring us into our most brilliant authenticity. …

What we realize is that there is more to this business of living than we can possibly know — maybe even in one lifetime. Once the crisis that opens us passes, our only job is to continue such authentic living.

Affirmation: My power lives within me. Things come, things go, but the power of God in me loves, secures and supports me always.

Live In the Life of God

Ernest Holmes

All life is One Life. Just as every physical substance known derives from one universal energy, so there is but one Life Principle, which is God, in which we all live and from which infinite Source our individual lives are drawn. If this one Life is present everywhere, It is also with us.

The water fall of life

To say that the Life of God is the only life there is means that my life is not only in God and of God and from God — it is God, which is unthinkable and impossible. But if it is true that the Life of God is my life now, how wrongly I must have been thinking about this life. I have judged it falsely and condemned it unnecessarily and in every way, shape and manner; in my ignorance, I have denied the very thing I should be affirming.

There is one Life, that Life is God, that Life is my life now. In God I live and move and have my being, and God lives in me and moves through me. … It is this Life that is circulating through me now, in happiness, in harmony and with perfect rhythm. I am one with the Whole; therefore, I say to my mind: You are to live and think and feel this truth until it is spontaneous and natural.

And when you say, “God is my life,” you are to know that the entire Life of the Divine and Perfect Presence is now flowing through you. I affirm this today — the Life of God is the only life there is, that Life is my life now, complete and perfect.
