Drumming Your Way To Enlightenment

Looking for a fast, safe way to alter your consciousness? Drumming may be your answer. According to Mark Waldman and Dr. Andrew Newberg, authors of the Science & Spirituality column, when you rhythmically drum with others in a group, you can reduce burnout at work and boost your immune system. Drumming groups are available at many Centers for Spiritual Living (find a center near you at CSL.org/centers-and-services). If you would be interested in participating in a virtual drumming circle led by our very own Eugene Holden, program manager of World Ministry of Prayer, email edit@ScienceofMind.com and put Drumming Circle in the message line. We’ll contact you with the time and date for our drumming Hangout on GooglePlus.

Spirit in Action
Creating A World That Works For Everyone!

Online crowdfunding, also known as crowdsourcing, is a new way to make a giant difference in someone’s life with an investment of as little as $20. And you don’t have to be a nonprofit to reap the benefits of this unique online way of raising funds. Individuals, from musicians who need funds to produce a CD to couples looking for money to adopt a child, are turning to crowdfunding. In the May issue, we feature two companies: Mosaic and Milaap that are using crowdfunding to create a world that works for everyone. To learn more about this new phenomenon, click on this article from MSNBC: Crowdsourcing Changes Charity Landscape.

If you know of a creative organization or group helping to create a world that works for everyone, let us know at edit@ScienceofMind.com.

The Ability to See Perfection
Ernest Holmes

Dr. Ernest HolmesIf you believe absolutely that you can do a certain thing, the way will always be opened for you to do it; if you also believe that time will have to elapse, then you are making that a law, and time will have to elapse. If, on the other hand, you believe that mind knows just how and never makes mistakes, but lets it be done unto you, then it will be done.

Confusion brings more confusion; peace begets peace; we cannot imagine the Great Spirit hurrying or worrying, fretting or trying to make anything happen. The only reason we worry and fret is because we have thought there was some other power which could bring confusion. Such is not the case. There is but one, and we are always using that one but using it according to our belief.

This is our divine birthright, nothing hinders but ourselves. Remember that since all is mind, you cannot demonstrate beyond your ability to comprehend mentally. That is, beyond your ability to know about a certain thing. For instance, suppose you wish to heal someone who is sick; your ability to do that will depend entirely upon your ability to see perfection mentally, coupled also with the realization that your word destroys everything unlike itself. If you try to see perfection for a few minutes only, it will never heal. Your thought goes on at all times and in moments when you least realize it, conditions are being molded for you. It is not enough to declare consciously for the truth. The truth must be lived or no good results will be forthcoming.
