The Great Awakening
Ernest Holmes

Dr. Ernest HolmesWe are probably on the verge of a great spiritual awakening. People are so tired of looking for things where they do not exist, that they are going to more and more completely open their thought to the realization that Spirit is an active Presence. But if we spend our entire time trying to find out why It does not work, we shall never find out how and why It does work. Arguing is often a waste of time. Somehow there must come to each individual an interior conviction that we are One with the Universe, and that the Spirit flows through us at the level of our recognition and embodiment of it. For this is “the way, the truth, and the life.”

We know, by intuition, that there is something beyond what we have so far consciously experienced in this world....We are still in the awakening state; we have not yet consciously entered the state of perfect wholeness. We know that such a state is a reality, and that we shall yet attain this reality....We are awakening to the realization that the Universe is perfect and complete. It gives. It is love. It is good and wills only good to all alike.

Excerpted from The Science of Mind, by Ernest Holmes, Tarcher/Putnman Publishing.

The National League of American Pen Women think so, and they have created a breathtaking tapestry to reveal the possibilities.

What Is the Tapestry for Peace?

Joice Fairchild

Tapestry for PeaceHeralding angels, doves with olive branches, the Earth in a web, Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, famous peacemakers like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela and Anne Frank, plus profound statements and thought-provoking poetry all created in vibrant collages, embroideries, appliqués, quilt work, beadwork, watercolors and a wide variety of mixed-media—these are some of the images on the Tapestry for Peace. Beauty, grace, and even a touch of magic permeate from within this national collaboration created to represent the hopes and dreams of millions by energetically expressing a desire for a peaceful world.
