Natural Law

There is a mental atmosphere all around us: it is Mind and it is Intelligence; it knows, feels, hears, sees, and understands everything. It is universal-that is, it is ever present, it is always where we are. It is receptive-that is, it receives our thought; it has power to do anything, to produce anything, to create anything.

It is a great, divine, natural medium and law. If you are spiritually developed enough, you will accept this fact and act upon it, and by so doing you will most surely reap the benefit of one who believes. If you cannot as yet accept this fact, you will be the loser. It matters not who takes it for a fact and who does not; the law is there just the same. Happy is the person who can take it, for he or she shall reap the reward of the true child of God.

We are surrounded by this Mind, and we can use it just as we use any other natural law. You ask, "Can we see, feel, hear, touch, taste, or smell it?" I answer, "No." I ask about the law of gravity: "Can you touch, taste, hear, see, feel, or smell it?" You answer, "No." We both must confess to a limited understanding of what the law really is, yet we both know that it exists. The things of the Spirit and Mind are not seen. The most sensible thing to do is take all natural law for granted and instead of arguing, find out how to use it and how to reap the benefits of our knowledge.
We must have some faith if we are to live, so why not have a little more faith and live just that much more? Jesus simply said, "Have faith in God." He knew that faith would produce the required results.

This Mind is there to be used, and the only instrument of Mind, the only tools of mind, are thoughts. The one who is a success is using natural law. We are using this law all the time. Our word is our thought, so our word shall accomplish.

When we wish to demonstrate these principles, we should act as though these were true. We should daily affirm the presence of a divine law that obeys our word, insofar as this word is in harmony with the truth. We should use the law definitely and with full assurance that we will reap the harvest of our spoken word in due season.
