Are you interested in making money? In running your business successfully? In getting a better salary? Of course you are! You want to be prosperous, and this is only right and sensible. The plain, practical, everyday problem of money-making is a definite part of living and the answer to it is summed up in these words: Prosperity awaits man’s recognition and acceptance of it. Or it can be stated another way: Your financial success already exists, but it is waiting for you to see it and accept it as your own. So far we have discovered that we are surrounded by limitless Mind—Energy—out of which everything is made. Also, it is the nature of the Universe to always take form according to a pattern, through the process of Law. Through our belief and conviction we provide patterns for Its manifestation. It is often helpful to realize that the Universe is infinite and that we can always draw on It for any desired good, that there is no limit to the good that can be manifest. When we say It “awaits man’s recognition” we mean that as soon as we intellectually understand the nature of the unseen part of our Universe and the way It works, and wholeheartedly believe in It, then we can more effectively use It. Use Your Bank Account Learn to draw on your spiritual bank account! Please keep clearly in mind that it is spiritual—that everything is Spirit, Mind, God, either visible or invisible. Remember the vapor which changed to ice? Every tangible thing you see or possess or contact in any way is but an expression of Spirit manifesting according to a pattern. If you need more money, it merely means that you need to place your order in this cosmic storehouse to have a greater supply of good become tangible in your experience. It is important that you identify yourself with that greater financial supply which you desire. You cannot do this by thinking about it as though it were impossible or even unlikely, or regretting that you do not now have it. Instead, you must train yourself to think about it with a feeling that it is only reasonable and natural for it to be yours—yes, that it already is yours! The money we spoke about being in the bank is yours even though you may not have checked on it yet. You do not have to stop and argue with yourself about its value or accessibility. The essence of the All-surrounding Universal Mind becomes your experience according to the pattern you choose. If you choose money, then money it will be! Believe Your Good is Available This is a process of identification. You not only believe in your financial welfare, but you act as though it is now yours. With a good bank account you certainly are not going to act impoverished. Of course not; you will think, appear, and act prosperous. Your every attitude will indicate that you are financially successful for you have identified yourself with prosperity—a result that is only natural and inevitable. Anyone who sees you will immediately get this impression. Some will act this way only when they have a thousand dollars in the bank. Surely, you can act accordingly when you know you have access to the universal storehouse which is limitless. Making Solid Your Foundations First of all, you must consistently believe in it. When you actually expect it you are well on the way to meeting it halfway. True expectancy is the highest test of faith. Next, you need to know that you have the right and ability to declare financial success for yourself—to accept the Creative Action of Mind in this particular way—and also to know that you have practical skills and abilities that can be translated into the good that people want and will gladly pay for. The wise man never declares his oncoming good and then sits idly by waiting for it to arrive. He uses every bit of his knowledge, initiative, and skill—the Action of God in him—to make himself so useful and valuable that financial rewards automatically flow to him. Some may be sorely in need of money and have no place to work where they can earn those much-needed funds. If this is your case, continue to look about you for opportunities, but do that only as a secondary matter. Your big task is to understand the Activity of Mind and your creative use of It. Believe in It, declare into It, and accept the answer. Know that your order has been received and is being filled. With this firmly implanted in your mind you are rightly guided when you look for work, for ways to increase your business, for greater outlets for your skill, or whatever other good you may desire. In this way you can act with a mind free of anxiety. Expression Through Service The same is true in regard to the giving of money. It returns augmented with a certainty and promptness that is astonishing! There are hundreds of great needs in the world today where every dollar you can spare will serve some worthy purpose. You should not give carelessly, but when you know of a truly fine work which is being carried on and which needs your support, you do yourself an injustice if you do not contribute to it. Whether your cash on hand is large or small, what you take from it to give to others temporarily seems to deplete your supply—it leaves a vacuum. It is trite to say that “Nature abhors a vacuum,” but it is a principle of vital importance to us in this connection.
