The Story of Islam takes the viewer on a journey through the origin of the religion from its humble beginnings 1400 years ago to its role today. The audience is introduced to the culture, philosophy, and fundamentals of the Islamic way of life. Embraced by many in the West, it is the fastest growing religion in the world. Viewers also learn of the similarities between the Muslim, Christian, and Judaic religions. Today, the total number of practicing Muslims is estimated at 1.2 billion worldwide and 3 to 6 million in the United States. About twenty percent of all people on Earth follow Islam. It is also a faith that is more misunderstood than any other in the history of mankind.
Also included on the DVD is the ABC Nightline Presentation "The Hajj--One American's Pilgrimage to Mecca." A Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, which enables Muslims from all around the world, of different colors, languages, races, and ethnicities, to come together in a spirit of universal brotherhood and sisterhood to worship God.

Recharging, detoxing, minding your language, creating healthy relationships, learning to meditate, finding your purpose, and holding your power are the basic skills learned from the seven WorkOuts. She presents here an effective, clearcut approach to positive change, with reviews of basic points covered, action steps, and an overall tone that inspires and motivates.

The Association for Global New Thought
www.agnt.org

Once called the "religion of healthy-mindedness" by the philosopher William James, the New Thought movement is finding greater and greater application in today's troubled world. Born more than 150 years ago, New Thought finds many distinct parallels in Science of Mind: erasure of negative conditions through an uplifted consciousness, physical healing by greater spiritual awareness, and respect for all life as an expression of the Divine.

Through this instructive and interesting website, the Association for Global New Thought informs viewers of these principles and goals as well as announcements of upcoming events, the most significant of which will be its Fourth Annual Gathering in Palm Springs, California, which takes place on October 30 through November 3, 2002. There is much to see on this site, including excerpts from a speech by his Holiness the Dalai Lama-a strong supporter of the Association's affirmation of nonviolence and unity-who spoke at a synthesis meeting in India attended by Association members.

Click on biographies of the AGNT Leadership Council, three of whom are Science of Mind ministers-Dr. Roger Teel and Revs. Michael Beckwith and Carol Carnes. Exploring this site reminds us that through the propagation of spiritual unity in the face of diversity in today's world we just might win the battle over fear and hatred.
